Due to having lived his entire life in fairly close to the Horned King, he has developed a sensitivity to magic, resulting in an ability to tell whenever magic is being used nearby. Aside form that, he possesses powerful jaws, and sharp teeth.

Surly, short tempered, and tenacious. Basically, everything required to fulfill his duties as a guard dog in Prydain Castle. Determined enough to catch his prey to risk getting crushed beneath a massive gate despite fearing for his life. Not much of a thinker, and not the smartest dog you'll find.

Opinions of Other Characters[]

The Horned King: Like everyone living in Prydain, Garm fears the Horned King. Specifically, his displeasure. This fear, and eagerness to please, has extended to Maleficent and Jafar as well.

Born to a pair of mongrels running loose within Prydain, Garm was raised to be a guard dog by the Huntsmen of Annuvin. Having known no other life, he was completely loyal to the Horned King. In return, he was fed, and allowed to live within the castle, often accompanying one of the Huntsmen through the castle. The years passed without major incident until the day a pig keeper named Taran snuck inside. Although Garm spotted the boy, he was then unable to alert the nearby guard of Taran's presence since he lacked the ability to speak to humans. Garm came close to causing Flewdur's demise, as well as his own, when he refused to release his grip on the bard's trousers when the old man was attempting to flee beneath a descending portcullis. However, both survived, at the cost of the seat of the trousers, and the bard made good his escape.

Later on, Garm fled Prydain as soon as the Horned King activated the Black Cauldron, escaping the ensuing slaughter of many of the Huntsmen, and the march of the Cauldron Born. The grey mutt watched grimly as the only home he ever knew collapsed into rubble, and turned away, determined to survive, and find somewhere else to live. His search eventually took him over the Forbidden Mountains, where, to his surprise, he saw Prydain, standing tall once more.
